After your baby is born…

I place great emphasis on the importance of good aftercare, individualised to suit you, your baby and your family circumstances. Your health insurance company will pay for 10 postnatal visits and 3 visits to deal with breastfeeding issues. During these visits my role is to check on you and your baby’s well being during the postnatal period. Once again I am able to carry out all the recommended checks on you and your baby in your own home. I tailor the length of visits to your needs. Very importantly, I spend time discussing your birth experience, answering any questions and explaining the maternity notes with you. I encourage women to be well supported by friends and family during this time to enable them to rest sufficiently and to enjoy these early days.
