During your labour….

I am on call 24 hours a day. I am there to support you by providing midwifery care during your labour and your baby's birth. During labour my care includes assessing mother and baby’s well being. I also offer emotional support, information and guidance to you and your support people. We will have discussed during your pregnancy any specific wishes, concerns or requests that you may have for the birth and I will do my best to respect these. I will stay with you until you are both comfortably settled. If you choose to give birth at home a second midwife will attend the birth. If you wish to give birth in the birthing centre Villa Oberburg, I am able to continue to care for you in conjunction with the midwifery team based there.
